Helen M. (Giuggio) Hoeg, age 96, of Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 3, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in Boston, daughter of the late Leonard and Angelina (Capodilupo) Giuggio. She was raised in the North End of Boston, and was a graduate of Boston Girls High School. During World War II, Helen worked at the US Navy Yard in Boston, and later worked as a bookkeeper at several local auto dealerships and at Chatham West in Brockton. Helen was a talented vocalist and during WWII, would sing to the troops. She was a longtime member and director of St. Edward’s Church Choir, and member of the Jubilate Chorale. Helen loved spending time with her family and extended family and had the opportunity to take many family cruises with her brothers and sisters. She also enjoyed playing the piano, was a member of the East Bridgewater YMCA and an avid Red Sox fan.
Helen was the mother of Elaine Raggiani and her husband Robert of Bridgewater, Robert Hoeg, Jr. of Shirley, William Hoeg and his wife Christine of Brockton and Carol LaCasse and her husband Angelo Umbrianna of Brockton; grandmother of Christina Camarra and her husband Michael, Robert Raggiani, Jr. and his partner Kelly Cassidy, Kimberly and Adam Hoeg and William Hoeg Jr. and his wife Julie; great grandmother of Elizabeth and Anthony Camarra, Jacob Raggiani and Rhiannon Hoeg. She was the sister of the late Joseph, Patrick, Michael, Theodore and John Giuggio, Emmanuella Grossi and Sarah Amicangelo. She leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday 4-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Thursday at 9:30am for a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.
