OCONELL, MICHAEL DANIELof South Boston passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Donna (Daggett) OConnell with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.
Loving, gentle father of Michael OConnell Jr. and his wife Alia of Oregon. John Henry OConnell & Katie OConnell both of South Boston. Devoted son of Dorothy (Colby) Ahearn and the late John OConnell of South Boston. Dear brother of Beverly (OConnell) Chappron and her husband David of Braintree. The late Stephen OConnell and his wife Theresa of South Boston and Kathy OConnell of South Boston, loving grandfather of Hannah, Jake, Joseph and Siobhan OConnell. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike served in the United States Army and was retired from the United States Postal Service. He cherished spending time with his family on his bi-annual trips to Disney.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 9:30 AM at the Gate of Heaven Parish located at 615 E Fourth Street, South Boston, MA 02127.
