Middleboro - Lorraine G. (King) DiCroce 90, died Monday March 5 in the Hannah B. Shaw Home after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of 41 years to the late Edward DiCroce.
Born and raised in Boston she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Vera (Fay) King and a graduate of the Girls High School of Boston.
After their marriage Edward and Lorraine relocated to the South Shore, where for over 25 years they owned and operated “Flowers by DiCroce” in Hanover and Bryantville, earning a reputation for excellence. After Edward’s passing in 2001 Lorraine retired.
She enjoyed going to Bingo, her trips to Foxwoods and was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox!
However her greatest joy came from the time spent at gatherings with her large family and her grandchildren and great grandchildren with whom she adored. They will always remember… Nana says “One-Two-Three Go”
She is survived by her children Cheryle Lawrence and her husband Bill of Middleboro, Irene Kuja and her husband Fred of Weymouth, Lorraine Mangano of Bridgewater, Michael DiCroce of Vermont and Edward “Ted” DiCroce, Jr and his wife Tahnya of Hull and her brother George King of Florida. She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her children Frederick, Christopher and Sharon and her siblings Harold, Frederick, William, Irene and Marion.
She also leaves behind her “special family’ at the Hannah B. Shaw Home who cared for her with kindness and compassion.
Her funeral service will be held Monday March 12 at 8:45 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) followed by a funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Sacred Heart Church, Middleboro. Visiting hours will be held Sunday March 11 from 2:00-6:00 PM. Burial will be at a later date.
