Obituary

Korrie Jon William McIntyre was born in Boston on July 3, 1976 to parents Lindsa McIntrye and the late John “Pike” Jones. A first grandson, he was absolutely doted on by his family. He had a special relationship with all of them. His smile was infectious and lit up a room. He was surrounded by lots of love.

Korrie attended private school for the majority of his early academic years and graduated high school from Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine; as captain of the basketball team and was both a soccer and lacrosse varsity player. Korrie not only excelled academically, he was also a talented athlete. He started his college journey at Johnson C. Smith University and continued at UMass Boston.

During his college years he met Talena Wilson, a relationship that resulted in the birth of their daughters Takora and Kiara McIntyre. His daughters were the love of his life and they each developed a love of basketball, as a result of their close relationship. A second relationship resulted in the birth of his only son, Korrie. For the past two years, Korrie served as the steward of his church, The Intersection.

Resting in the arms of the Lord, Korrie peacefully entered eternal life during the early morning hours of February 24th, surrounded by family and friends.

Loving and missing him terribly, he leaves to mourn, in addition to his children, his beloved mother, Lindsa McIntyre Fields and her husband James, sister, Kristen Fields, step-sister, Diane Schofield, nephew Kevin Schofield, and step-brother Shawn Garner. Cherishing his memories and special relationships are his aunts, Anna Jones, Darlene McIntyre, Tana Jenkins Portal; uncles Pliney, Larry, and Dwayne Jenkins, great-aunts, Esther Jenkins, Juanita Moore, and Peggy Killebrew, a host of cousins, close friends, and godparents, Frank and Dr. Sharon Redd.

Korrie is welcomed in the eternal life reunion by his father John, grand-parents, Pliney and Carolyn Jenkins, great-grandmother Henrietta Moore, aunt Juanita “Toby” Jenkins, and uncles, Stephen McIntyre and Daniel Jenkins.

Funeral Services will be held at The Intersection (formerly known as Our Saviours Lutheran Church) 500 Talbot Ave. Dorchester on Wednesday March 7 at 11AM, with at service at 12PM. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Interment will then follow at Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
