Mary L. Medeiros, 97, of Westport, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Catholic Memorial Home. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Nunes) Medeiros.
Mary was born in Fall River and moved to her home at High View Farm in Westport at the age of three months where she lived for 97 years. She attended Boston University and worked for several insurance agencies, retiring from her position at UMASS Dartmouth in her seventies. She was a board member for the Westport Housing Authority, a member of the Westport Women's Club and on the beach committee. Mary was also a trustee for the Westport Free Public Library and a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport. She enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening, the beach, traveling and The Weather Channel. She loved her family and she loved life!
Survivors include her sister-in-law: Laura Medeiros; her nieces and nephews: Linda and Carmen Maiocco, Ann and Paul Vigeant, Michael and Cheryl Medeiros, Stephen and Pauline Medeiros, Susan and Frank Sherman, David and Julie Medeiros; 14 great nieces and nephews; along with 9 great great nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late George Medeiros.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.

Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
