Jeannette Delia (Martin) Williamson, 98, was called safely home on March 3, 2018. She passed into eternal life from Wingate at Wilbraham surrounded by the love and comfort of her caring family. She was born on November 21, 1919 in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, a daughter of the late Hermenegilde and Delia (Mathieu) Martin. As a young woman, Jeannette worked in the Post Exchange and Women's Aircraft Maintenance at Westover Field as a part of the World War II effort. She later worked at Ames Plating for over 30 years prior to her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and often volunteered at the Municipal Home in Chicopee. Above all, Jeannette was a dedicated and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who endured life's struggles and made better lives possible for the members of her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Forrest Williamson, who passed away in 1983. She is survived by her four loving children, Diane Williamson of Holyoke, Forrest Williamson of Florida, Ruth Parker and her husband, Garth, of Ludlow, and Wayne Williamson and his wife, Laura, of Florida; her two beloved granddaughters, Donna Duval-Bryskiewicz and her husband, Edward, of Longmeadow and Debbie Timothy and her husband, James, of Tyngsboro; her three adored great-grandchildren, Zachary Zimmerman of Chicopee, Callahan Murphy of Longmeadow, and James Timothy of Tyngsboro; her dear sister Doris Sobzak of Westfield; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her bothers, Henry, Roland, and Alfred Martin, and her dear sisters, Lillian Talbot and Cecile Gaulin. Jeannette's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and volunteers of Wingate at Wilbraham for their care and compassion during the years she spent there. A visiting hour will be held on Friday, March 9 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. in St Patrick's Church, 358 Broadway Street in Chicopee, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 392 Hampden Street in Chicopee.
