Jon C. Ostman, 58, of Acushnet, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Deborah J. Panek.
Mr. Ostman was born in Vandalia, IL, son of the late Nelson H. Ostman of Nantucket and the late Theresa M. (Ferreira) Ostman of Oak Bluffs and had been a lifelong resident of Acushnet. He had worked as a commercial fisherman until sustaining injuries in a motorcycle accident. He enjoyed fishing, socializing and being in the company of his children and grandchildren. Mr. Ostman will be remembered as a true friend that will love you until the day he dies; Indeed, he proved this to be true.
Along with his wife, survivors include his son: Jacob Panek and his wife Christina; his 2 daughters: Rebecca Costa and her husband Andy and Hollie Ostman Jones; a brother: Eric Ostman of Port St. Lucie, FL; 6 grandchildren: Samantha, Julian, Andrew, Molly, Lucas and Allyson; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Shawn Ostman, Nelson Ostman and Vaughn Ostman.
Memorial visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Kirby Funeral Home from 6-7 P.M.
Interment will be private.
