Obituary

Robert L. Smyth, 90, of Plymouth, passed away on March 1, 2018. Born in 1928 to his parents the late Lem and Margaret Smyth. Loving father of Bill Smyth and wife Margaret, Patsy Darmetko and husband Tom, Rita DePesa and husband Ron and Robin Botto and husband Tim. Loving brother to Tom Smyth, the late Billy Smyth, the late Frank Smyth, the late Betty Bassett, the late Pat O’Brien and the late Peggy Depascale. Robert was also the devoted grandfather and great grandfather to many grandchildren. Robert worked for over 40 years at the Baltimore Brush Company. He served his Country in the U.S Army. He was originally from Roxbury, MA and later moved to Dorchester, MA and then to Plymouth, MA. Robert also lived in Florida for 20 years. He spent the last few years residing at the Brookdale Assisted Living in Plymouth. The Smyth family would like to extend their extreme gratitude to the workers and staff at the Brookdale Assisted Living and also Cranberry Hospice for their exceptional care. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s name can be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth MA, 02360 or New England Center for Home for Veterans at P.O Box 845257, Boston, MA. Visiting Hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, Kingston on Sunday, March 4, from 2:00 to 6:00PM. A Service will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, on Monday, March 5, at 9:30AM. Interment will follow at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at 10:45AM.
