Lee Kenneth Hackett, 69, a resident of Taunton for 64 years before retiring to Pocasset, MA, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 . He was the deeply loved husband of Donna (Ashcroft) Hackett for 49 years. Born in Taunton, the son of the late James “Kay” and Elizabeth (Conway) Hackett. Lee was a 1966 graduate of Taunton High School. He proudly continued to operate his family’s chicken farm until the early 1980’s. He owned and operated Hackett Plumbing for 35 years. Lee was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church in Taunton and St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Falmouth. He actively enjoyed boating (sail and power), beaching, fishing, motorcycling, and traveling with his friends and family. Known for his great sense of humor and his colorful language, Lee generously opened his heart and home to his family and friends and will be remembered with great affection. Lee is preceded in death by his brother, James Robert Hackett. In addition to his wife Donna, Lee leaves his brother, Scott Paul Hackett, and is lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and loyal friends. A graveside service will be held at St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton on Thursday, March 8th at 11 am. Visitation is respectfully omitted.
