Mrs. Joan I. (Senecal) Littleton, of Taunton and formerly of Raynham, entered into rest Wednesday, February 28 at the Nemasket Healthcare Center, Middleboro, following a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard W. “Rick” Littleton. She was born 86 years ago in Montreal, P.Q., Canada, the daughter of the late Arther and Lucille (Daigle) Senecal. She was educated in Canada and Taunton, having graduated from Taunton High School and the Morton Hospital School of Nursing. Joan was an area resident for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a bartender for the former Gondola Restaurant for 30 years. She was previously employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the former Rosewood Nursing Home in Taunton. She enjoyed playing the piano, traveling to Florida and Canada, and she loved wildlife.
She leaves: 1 son: Gregory P. Shaw and his wife, Mary Jane of Berkley; 1 sister: Patricia Patterson of Bertram, Texas; 1 grandson: Joseph Shaw of Berkley, and several nieces and nephews. Joan was also the mother of the late Eric G. Shaw of Taunton.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, March 5 at 8:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Church at 9:30 A.M. Interment will be in Stevens Corner Cemetery, Rehoboth. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M.
