Juanita Sumner McAllister, 88, of Tifton passed away Friday, March 1, 2018, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Ross Cook officiating. A eulogy will be given by her son, Alan McAllister. Mrs. McAllister will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 3, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. McAllister’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Born on March 30, 1929 in Tift County, Mrs. McAllister was the daughter of the late John Jackson Sumner and Callie Summer Sumner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, W. Maurice McAllister; one brother; and two sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. McAllister is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Janet McAllister of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Bill Brim and Teresa and Mitchell Cook, all of Tifton; seven grandchildren, Will McAllister, Jennifer Rackley, Todd Bledsoe, Jessica Kirk, Wendy Cook, Hunter McAllister and Callie McAllister; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Forest McAllister, Kylie Cook, Kolbie Cook, Kate Cook, Snapper Daniels, Madison Bledsoe, Ethan Bledsoe, Jase Bledsoe, Madeline Grace Kirk, Samuel Kirk, Rachel Rackley, Ruth Rackley and Evelyn Rackley.
