Obituary

Norman Goward passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Norman lived in East Bridgewater with his wife Grace (Carr) (Carlson) Goward.

The son of J. Clinton and Greta (Norberg) Goward, he was raised and lived most of his life in North Easton.

He was predeceased by his wife Irene (Obin) Goward and son Gary C. Goward. He was the loving father of Gayle (Goward) and Wayne Hulbert of Whitman and devoted Papa to Meghan (Hulbert) & Cory Buchanan of Taunton and Lisa Hulbert and her fiancé, Ray Bundy of Brockton. He is also survived by his step children, Crystal and Noel Coffey, Susan Murray and Steve Lavoie and Douglas and Tania Carr, Step grandchildren, Kent and Cory Coffey, Julie Demakis, Stephanie Murray, Adam and Kyle Carr, and step great grandchildren, Kaydence, Travis and Lila Coffey. He was the brother of Phyllis Goward Ameigh, Nancy Goward Breneman and the late Gerry Goward Henderson and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Norman enjoyed spending time with his family, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed golf.

He was a Navy veteran.

He was proud of his 40 years of work with the Massachusetts Dept. of Public works as a highway supervisor.

Norm was a member of Paul Revere Lodge AF&AM, Brockton Chapter and Pilgrim Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Through his membership in Eastern Star he travelled extensively throughout Massachusetts and the United States, making friends wherever he went.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours to be held Sunday March 4 from 3:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman and his funeral service which will be now be held Monday March 5 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel. Burial will follow in the Village Cemetery, N. Easton. An Eastern Star service will be held on Sunday at 6:30PM at the funeral chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Congregational Church, 1350 Pleasant St, Brockton, MA 02301.
