Obituary

On October 5, 1959 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, Eugene Faye Lockhart III was born to Eugene Jr. and Alfrieda.
He was the fifth of eight children. Eugene was born with cerebral palsy. The doctors told his family that Eugene would not be able to walk or to live a normal childhood life. However, Eugene was determined to live as much of a normal life as possible...and he did! Although he struggled with cerebral palsy - he did not allow this to steal his childhood.
Eugene was baptized a Catholic and was an altar boy. From childhood, Eugene attended Catholic church. Eugene attended elementary school at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School and attended Waggemer High School in Jefferson County. Eugene was always on the go and full of life, laughter, and joking. He had a smile that would light up a room. Eugene had many nicknames including, "Binkey," "J. Bo," and "Jay." He loved to cook and dress.
Eugene moved to Southern California in 1978 to be closer to his older sister. After a short period of time of being in California, Eugene met Alvester. In this relationship, they had two children. One of his greatest joys was being a father and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In 1999, Eugene moved to Ventura, California, spending the remainder of his life there. On February 16, 2018, Eugene passed away peacefully at his home. Eugene lived to be 58 years old and he is now with his father, mother, two sisters, and his heavenly father. Eugene is survived by his daughter, Pebbles Davis and her husband Ronnie; a son, Eugene Lockhart IV and his partner, Loretta; his brother, Eric Lockhart; his sisters: Jean Tolliver, Regenia Powell, Eunice Lockhart, and Eugenia Lockhart; his grandchildren: Chase Davis, Essence Davis, Egene Lockhart V, Ke'Shawn Lockhart, Ke'juan Lockhart, Angel Lockhart, Heaven Lockhart, Ramsey Lockhart, Ka'Risma Lockhart, and Ka'Maeae Lockhart. He is also survived by Essie Harris, who was like a second mother to him and by many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and a lot of friends.
Family and friends are invited to a Visitation at 9:30 am on Friday, March 2, 2018 with a Funeral Service to start at 10:00 am on Friday in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura. Burial will follow at Angelus Rosedale Cemetery, 1831 W Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90007.
