William Leon “Bimbo” Harper, 59, of Tifton passed away Monday, February 26, 2018, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Jimmy Stone officiating. Mr. Harper will be laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Bobby Blanchard, Nick Craig, Terry Cook, Brandon Sutton, Dustin “Bubba” Blanchard and Toby Johnson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Pyles, Taylor Mothershed and Tyson Craig.
Born September 2, 1958 in Tift County, Mr. Harper was the son of Betty Jean Withers Harper of Tifton and the late Henry Leon Harper. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Paulette Blanchard. He was a shade tree mechanic and loved tinkering with electronics. He loved his family and he loved to ride his bicycle.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Harper is survived by one daughter, Melissa Harris of South Carolina; one brother, Dale Harper and Janet Boyd of Tifton; a brother-in-law and his wife, Bobby and Elaine Blanchard of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Steve Landers of Tifton; four grandchildren, Veronica, Stacey, Leroy and Adan; a special friend, Sara Craig; and numerous nieces and nephews.
