Francis J. Casey, Sr.
Retired Plasterer for Local # 10 of Boston

BILLERICA: Francis J. “Frank” Casey, Sr, age 83, recently of Lowell, a former longtime Billerica resident, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital, with his beloved family at his side on Friday, February 23, 2018.

Frank was the life companion of the late Misue Campanella.

Born in Somerville on March 8, 1934, he was the son of the late Peter J. Casey and the late Mary (Dunphy) Casey.

Frank was raised in Somerville and attended Somerville Trade School.

Prior to his retirement in 1992, he was employed for 40 years by Local # 10 of Boston as a Union Plasterer.

Frank enjoyed boating, and was a life member of the Winter Hill Yacht Club. In addition he was an avid classic car enthusiast.

He was a proud father and grandfather, who loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Frank is the father of four sons, Joseph T. Casey, of Medford, Tewksbury Police Lieutenant, Thomas M. Casey, and Tewksbury Police Officer, John M. Casey and his wife Catherine, all of Tewksbury, and the late Francis J. Casey, Jr. and his wife Diane M. Casey of Billerica. Grandfather of Lowell Police Officer, Patrick Casey, and Matthew, Brendan, and Shane Casey, Lauren Mirogiannis, Scott, Ryan, Michael, Thomas, John, Audrey, and Robert Casey. Great Grandfather of Dylan and Jordan Casey. Brother of Mary DeCosta, of Billerica, Margaret Fanning and her husband John of Westford, Barbara McNeil and her husband William, of Hampstead, NH, and the late Patricia Ryan, and William Casey. Former husband of the late Marie (Hession) Casey. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Feb. 27, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, www.joslin.org, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.
