James E. Donovan of Bourne, formerly of Canton, died Thursday February 22, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton following a brief illness. Born and raised in Boston he attended St. Gregory’s, Catholic Memorial High School and UMass Boston. Jim worked for Polaroid Corp for many years and most recently for The Market at Pinehills as the Asst. Seafood Manager. A past member of the K of C in Dorchester, Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother who lived for his family. Beloved husband of Dorothy M. (Joyce). Loving father of Michael J. Donovan and his wife Jacquelyn of Walpole, James C. Donovan and his partner Brian Crete of Boston and
Kerry Hatchell and her husband Shawn of Bourne. Dear brother of Linda Kane and her husband Stephen of Marshfield, Peter Donovan and his wife Kathie of Plymouth, Paul Donovan and his wife Laurie of Hanover and Susan Prudente and her husband Paul of Scituate. Also survived by his four cherished grandchildren, Andrew and Colin Donovan, Madison and Gregory Hatchell and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Dockray and Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St CANTON on Sunday from 3-7PM Funeral Mass to be held in St Gregory’s Church 2223 Dorchester Ave Dorchester on Monday at 11AM.
