PORTLAND, ME-Genevieve V. (Buckley) McGurl, 99, formerly of Worecester, died Wednesday, November 2nd in St. Joseph’s Manor in Portland. Her husband Eugene E. McGurl died in 1982. She leaves her sons; Eugene B. and his wife Ann McGurl of Scarborough, ME, Jeremiah J. and his wife Linda McGurl of Portland, and Thomas F. and his wife Mary Lou McGurl of Bolton Landing, NY, 5 grandchildren; Marybeth Knight, Tim McGurl, Kelly Ralph, Thomas D. McGurl and D. Scott McGurl and 6 great-grandchildren. A daughter Karen McGurl, a brother; Francis Buckley and 3 sisters; Mary Agnes Whelan, Ella Mannix and Bernice Story predeceased her.
She was born July 23rd, 1906 in Millbury the daughter of Jeremiah and Eliza (Monahan) Buckley. Mrs. McGurl was a 1926 graduate of St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing, and had worked in the Worcester area for many years.
The funeral will be Saturday, November 5th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, November 4th for 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
