Ana V. Tavares (Vieira) age 92 of Newton, Formerly of Canton passed away February 16th at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Brava, Cape Verde Islands she came to the United States as a young woman. She lived in Canton for over 40 years before moving to Newton 5 years ago. She worked as a Seamstress in Boston for many years and more recently as a Cashier for the Sharon Public Schools before retiring. She was a member of the Ideal Club in Bridgewater and enjoyed spending time with her family and doing puzzles.

Grandmother of Elaine and Melissa Loh and Isabella T. Antonelli. Sister of Eliza Leitao and her husband Augusto of N. Attleboro and the late Manuel Vieira. Sister in law of Ricardina Vieira of Stoughton. Relatives and friends invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Saturday morning February 24th at 10 am. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Saturday morning prior to the mass from 8:00 to 9:30 am. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
