Dr. Victor E Fournier
Laconia- Victor “Vic” Fournier at eighty-eight passed away peacefully February 18, 2018 at his home. For 64 years he was the devoted and loving husband of his surviving wife Irene. Vic is survived by his three children; Louis Fournier, Lisa Mason, Lynn Cote, and their families including eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Born December 29, 1929 in Laconia, NH preceded in death by his parents Henry and Irene (Francoeur) Fournier, and younger brother Gerald. Vic was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish of Laconia. He graduated from Sacred Heart Grammar School; Assumption Prep School, Worcester MA, Class of ’48; University of New Hampshire Class of ’51, and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, ’55. Upon graduation from dental school, he served in the US Army from ’55-’57. He established his general practice in Laconia, in ’57 retiring for the first time in ’96. He continued to practice dentistry for Gage’s Dental until ‘11. In ’99 he joined the Northeast Delta Dental team as a Dental Consultant becoming certified with the American Association of Dental Consultants in ’05, working until ‘13. He served Delta Dental as one of their earliest Board members. He was appointed to the original Board of Directors of the Dental Service Corp. and served for twenty-five years, six years as Vice Chairman. Vic was appointed to the New Hampshire Board of Dental Examiners ’79-’89, six years as President of the Board ’83-’89. He served on the Northeast Regional Board of Dental Examiners ’80-’13. He also served on New Hampshire Dental Board of Trustees, New Hampshire Dental Society, ADA, Lakes Region Dental Society, serving as President, and the American College of Dentistry.

Dr. Vic lived his life as a kind hearted and compassionate man who treated everyone fairly and with respect. He was open minded and always willing to hear all sides of the story before recommending a course of action. He loved his work and his patients. A beloved grandfather, always supportive for his family. Work, laughter, games, and enjoyment of life was how one could describe him. Vic had a passion for gardening, playing tennis, gathering with family and friends, grilling hamburgers, catching a ground hog or two while maintaining the yard to Irene’s standards. He always gave his time to family and others.

Memorial calling hours will be held from 6-8 pm Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10 am at St Andre Bessette Parish – Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia NH with reception to follow.
