Funeral services for Ruth W. Luke, 88, of Fitzgerald will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Abba Baptist Church in Ben Hill County. Burial will follow in Luke Family Cemetery in Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends prior to the service Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
Ruth passed away on Saturday, Feb 17, 2018 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Luke, Sr. and sisters, Elsie Collins and Evelyn Worley. Born in Cordele, she was the daughter of the late John William Worley and Hattie King Worley. She was a homemaker and an active member of Abba Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School for over 60 years and had also served in many other capacities over the years. She was a good and faithful servant to her Lord in doing for others wherever there might be a need. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved cooking for and spending time with them. She was a sports enthusiast and an avid fan of the Braves.
Ruth is survived by her children, a son and his wife, Eddie and Patsy Luke of Arabi and a daughter and her husband, Mary Evelyn and David Conger of Chula; grandchildren, Lilli Luke of Arabi and Charles David Conger of Chula; and a sister, Dorothy Morgan of Arabi.
