Melinda Padgett Walker, 44, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, February 18, 2018, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Chuck Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Walker was born December 21, 1973, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Janet Hatten Padgett & the late Jake Emory Padgett. She lived in the community all of her life and was a 1992 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. Mrs. Walker was an employee of Modern Dispersions South, Inc., in Fitzgerald and loved her job. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, Jim and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed taking lots of pictures and had a million-dollar smile. Mrs. Walker was of the Baptist faith and attended Englewood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Walker of Fitzgerald; a step-son: Brett C. Walker & John Rutherford of Savannah; brother, Rick Padgett & Sara of Fitzgerald; a sister, Debra Hall & Allen of Fitzgerald; her mother, Janet Hatten Padgett of Fitzgerald; nieces and nephews: Kacie Padgett & Miranda of Fitzgerald, Austin Padgett of Fitzgerald, Kyra Padgett of Orlando, Florida, Kadyn Padgett of Montgomery, Minnesota and Khloe Parker of Tifton; and two great-nieces: Skyla Padgett and Sage Chromy.
