Obituary

Nancy (Gennetti) Cagno passed away on February 18, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.

A lifelong resident of Malden, Nancy worked for over 20 years as a secretary for the Malden School Department. She was a recipient of Malden’s Woman of the Year, a longtime parishioner of St. Peter’s Parish and member of the Ladies Sodality at St. Peter’s Church.

Nancy was the wife of the late Luigi Sablone and Anthony G. Cagno. She was the beloved mother of Paula (Cagno) Maddaleni, John Cagno, Michael Cagno and his wife Lisa, Anthony Cagno Jr. and David Cagno and his wife Kerri. Nancy was the very dear sister of Salvatore “Butch” Gennetti and the late Daniel Gennette, Jean Sacco, Edmund Gennetti, Edith Falcone, Anna Puleo, Henry Gennetti, Mary Giarratana and Teresa Smith and the dear sister-in-law of Esther Carducci. She was the cherished Nanny of Angela Winn and her husband Marc, Anthony Cagno and his wife Naomi, Julia, John and Matthew Cagno, Michelle Cafarella and her husband Joseph, Sam, Marisa, William and Michael Cagno. Nancy was also blessed with 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday, February 21st at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 20th from 4-8pm. Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
