CHICOPEE – Vilma D. Rousseau, 90, a longtime resident of the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, February 16, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at the Agawam Health Care Center surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on May 25, 1927, a beloved daughter of the late Albert V. and Annette B. (Dery) Rousseau. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. She was a Clerical Administrator at the former Fisk Tire & Rubber Company which later became Uniroyal and Michelin Tire. She was a member of the Uniroyal Royalettes and the Uniroyal Retirement Club. She was a longtime communicant of the former Saint George Church in Chicopee Falls and currently a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. She leaves her loving sister, Barbara A. Rousseau of Springfield and several dear cousins and friends. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, February 23, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends on Friday morning, February 23, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the Mass.
