Mr. Delio Freitas, formerly of Taunton, entered into rest Friday, February 16 at Tewksbury Hospital, Tewksbury, following a lengthy illness. He was born 42 years ago in Stoughton, the son of Isilda (Faria) Freitas and the late Alberto Freitas. He was educated in Taunton, having attended Taunton High School, and had been a city resident for most of his life. Delio was formerly employed as a forklift operator for Cape Cod Express for a number of years. He enjoyed visiting auctions and spending time with his family. He was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church in Taunton.
In addition to his mother, of Taunton, he leaves: 2 brothers: Joe Freitas of New Hampshire, and Jorge Freitas of Taunton; 1 sister: Jennifer Martins and her husband, Eduardo of Taunton, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was also the father of the late Brittany Lynn Freitas of Taunton.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Thursday, February 22 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Mayflower Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
