Shrewsbury – Patricia Theresa Gonyea, 86, a longtime Worcester resident died on Tuesday, February 13th in the Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
Ms. Gonyea was raised in Worcester by Oscar Sr. and Ora (Prunier) Gonyea. She is survived by her foster sister, Nancy E. Dunn. She is predeceased by her foster brothers, Oscar Gonyea Jr. and Russell Underwood. Her nephew, Oscar Gonyea III also predeceases her.
She worked for many years as an office clerk for the Morgan Construction Company and was a parishioner of Saint Peters Parish in Worcester.
Theresa volunteered her time for many years at Hahnemann Hospital and attended daily mass at St. Peter’s Church where she was a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 22nd at 10 AM in Notre Dame Mausoleum 162 Webster Street Worcester with burial in her family plot. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to St. Peter’s Church “St. Vincent de Paul Society” 929 Main Street Worcester, MA 01610.
