FALL RIVER – Delta Moniz, age 72, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at the Catholic Memorial Home. Born in Ribeira Grande, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Alodia (Tavares) Menezes. Prior to retirement she worked as a Teacher’s Aide for Crystal Springs School. She was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church and was a choir member. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with family, especially her dog Shelby. She was also a seamstress for the Holy Ghosts Festivals.
Delta is survived by her children Mario Moniz, Luis Moniz (wife Sandy), Grace Paquette (husband Junior), Cindy Chabot (husband Jared) all of Fall River; siblings Zeida Botelho of RI, Aura Meneses of Açores, Alda Menezes of Fall River and Lina Ferruolo of RI; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Gina Almeida.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Michael’s Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
