New Bedford – Dorothy d’Aguiar, age 93 of Dartmouth, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Antone d’Aguiar and the daughter of the late Maria Madeline (Medeiros- Cimbron) and John Fernandes-Carvalho.
Dorothy was born in New Bedford, MA and had been a stitcher at various mills over the years.
She is survived by her daughter, Madeline Luis and her husband, Nomesio; 2 grandsons, Keith Joseph Luis and his wife, Jeannette and Ryan Anthony Luis; 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her siblings.
Dorothy’s visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M at the funeral home. Her services will be held on Wednesday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John Cemetery.
