Lorraine Nancy (Vitello) DiTroia, a life-long resident of Medford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15th at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 83.
Born in Somerville, she was raised in Medford and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anne (DeLellis) Vitello. Lorraine graduated from Medford High School with the Class of 1950.
A homemaker, she loved her family more than anything. Lorraine was an outgoing and kind person. She loved music and singing. When she was younger she enjoyed singing professionally at local night clubs and restaurants. Lorraine also loved cats and cooking. Her signature dish were her chicken cutlets, but there wasn’t anything Lorraine couldn’t make. No one left her home hungry.
She was the devoted mother of Frank S. DiTroia and his partner Brenda Andrews of Billerica and the late Lorene N. DiTroia, who passed away in 1979. Lorraine was the loving grandmother of Lorene L. DiTroia of Wilmington and the dear sister of Dolores LaMarca of Woburn, Toni Donarumo of Marblehead, and Diann Henry of Medford.
A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Tuesday, February 20th at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
