Adriana (Lockhorst) van Dissel - Age 78, of Forked River, NJ, formerly of Wellesley, died on Monday, October 31, 2005, at her residence. Mrs. van Dissel was born in Tandjong Pandan, Indonesia, and immigrated to the United States from Holland in 1955, settling briefly in Westfield, NJ. From 1966-1983 she resided in Wellesley, MA and was a summer and weekend resident of Forked River from 1961-1983 before moving there permanently. Mrs. van Dissel loved being by the water and meeting with friends at the Forked River Methodist Church. She was a past member of the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church in Massachusetts, as a young woman she worked for the Dutch Consular Service in Sisigapore & Jakarta. She was a longtime member of the Longwood Cricket Club of Brookline, MA, and the Maugus Club of Wellesley as a squash player.
Surviving are one daughter Geraldine and her husband Jon JP Warner of Weston, MA, three sons Ronald J. and his wife Nancy of Eliot, ME, Benjamin E. and his wife Cynthia of Spokane, WA, and Bart J. and his wife Holly of Georgetown, KY. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt. 16) WELLESLEY, Sunday, Nov. 6, from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Children's Hospital Trust, 1 Autumn St., Boston, MA 02115.
