Obituary

Marion J. (Heinlein) Gerrity 93 of Dover died Tuesday February 6, 2018 at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing Home in Natick.
She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence Gerrity who died in 1980.
Born in Dover and a lifelong resident Marion grew up on Shady Brook Farm on Claybrook Road, the daughter of the late Chester and Mary C. (Mears) Heinlien.
She attended the Dover School System graduating from Dover High School in 1941 as class Valedictorian. Marion worked as secretary for the Principal and Superintendent of the Dover Public Schools.
She married Lawrence Gerrity of Natick in 1947, and built their home on Main Street Dover and raised three children. Marion later volunteered and helped in campaigns for former Massachusetts State Senator John M. Quinlan of Dover. In 1973 she began working at the Dover Town Library and rose to the position of Assistant Director retiring in 1997.
Public service was important to Marion, she served as an Air Raid Warden in World War II, was an active member of the Dover Branch Alliance, serving as Treasurer, member of the Dover Senior Citizen Club, Dover Legion Auxiliary, Dover Historical Society,the Hoboes, the Wisdom Club, and Most Precious Blood Parish.
She also enjoyed traveling, knitting, reading and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children Elizabeth Devine and her husband Joseph of Dover, Michael Gerrity and his wife Annie of Brewster, Richard Gerrity and his wife Elizabeth of St Louis MO, her sister Anna Mahoney of Utah, grandchildren Brian Devine and his wife Christine, Colleen Gerrity and her husband Alex Hogan, Erin Gerrity and her husband Zack Kamen , Michael Gerrity, Meghan Henry and her husband Royce, Lawrence Gerrity, great-grandchildren, Kyle, Grace, Nio and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Mary Lindbohm, Chester Heinlien Jr., and Madelyn Greene.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral on Wednesday February 21, at 10:00 A.M., from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Most Precious Blood Church Dover at 11:00 A.M.
Visiting hours are Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M.
Interment Highland Cemetery Dover.
