Christine Bryan Hardy, 75, of Tifton passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Tifton Health and Rehab. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Mrs. Hardy will be laid to rest at Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, February 16, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will be meeting at the David Hardy residence, 3680 Highway 41 North in Chula.
Mrs. Hardy’s grandsons and her nephew will serve as pallbearers.
Born April 26, 1942 in Berrien County, Mrs. Hardy was the daughter of the late Grady Bryan Sr. and Jewel Inez Brown Bryan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Stanley Hardy, who passed away in 2016. Before retiring, she was self-employed as a caterer and seamstress. She was known as the “cake lady” and enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing and painting. She enjoyed attending activities at the Leroy Rogers Senior Center and attended Tift Avenue Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hardy is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Cindy Hardy of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Scott and Dawn Hardy of Berrien County and David Hardy and Dawn Thompson of Chula; five brothers, Thomas Edward Bryan of Dalton, Grady Thomas Bryan Jr. of West Berrien Community and Charles Bryan, Ed Bryan and Billy Bryan, all of Berrien County; four sisters, Ruth Hall, Alice Saylor and Susie Hines, all of Tifton and Kathy Williams of Simpsonville, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Mason Hardy, Mallory Hardy, Drew Hardy, Cody Hardy, Sean Hardy, Shannon Hardy, Ben Hardy and Mary Claire Hardy; and three great-grandchildren, Caiden Hardy, Sadie Hardy and Henry Eldon Waldrop.
