Allyssa E. Mertsch, It is with great sadness that the family of Allyssa E. Mertsch announce her unexpected passing on Sunday, February 11 at 27 yearsof age. She was born and raised in Salem, MA by her loving parents Kurt and Deborah Mertsch.
After graduating from Salem High School, she continued her education at North Shore Community College focusing in early childhood development which was Allyssa’s passion. Known as a very hard worker, Allyssa was employed at D’Orsi’s Bakery where she formed an unbreakable bond with everyone she encountered. Along with D’Orsi’s bakery, Allyssa was also employed at many daycares where she worked with infants and toddlers.
Allyssa was known for her fun-loving free spirit. She was always filled with optimism and continuously fought for what she believed in. Along with being kind and generous, Allyssa had such a big heart making it a blessing to have known her.
Together with her parents, Allyssa is survived by her siblings, Stephen and Ashley, her beloved Genevieve, her grandmother Ruthie Pelletier and many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Raymond and Carol Borden.
Visiting Hours will be held at Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St, Salem, MA 01970 (Route 114/1A) on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
