Manchester– David W. Steer, 75, died January 31, 2018 at his home following a brief illness.
He was born in Gloucester, MA., on July 24, 1942 the son of Paul and Marie (Carvel) Steer.
He was a longtime barber at Normand’s Family Hair Care and has owned other salons throughout his career. Dave worked hard and tirelessly. When not working he could be found antiquing or trying to better his craft of barbering. He was loved by many and always carried a big smile. He was the type of man that would do anything for anybody, anytime. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963.
He deeply loved his family and spoke of them often. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.
Family members include three sons, Jared Steer and his wife, Eliza King of New Hampton, Bruce Cormier of Rochester, David Cormier of Milton, two grandchildren, Arlo Steer, and Greta Steer and one brother, Ed Markland and three nephews, Robert Markland, Allen Markland and John Markland.
He was predeceased by one brother, Paul Steer.
A graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at a later date.
