Obituary

Roger W. DuBois, 67, passed away on February 10, 2018 surrounded by his family after a hard fought battle at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Waterville, Maine on April 19, 1950 to Marie (Dionne) DuBois of South Dartmouth and the late Joseph R. DuBois. A graduate of Wolcott High School in CT, along with his late brother David C. DuBois, who coined the nickname we all knew him by, “Judge.” Together, they own most of the baseball and basketball records that still stand today. After living in many places, Roger eventually settled in New Bedford to be close to family. He just recently relocated to Fall River with his wife, son, and cat Ozzy.
Roger proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. “The Judge” also proudly pitched for the Marine Corps baseball team in Hawaii. He left The Corps with the rank of Sergeant upon his discharge.
Roger worked many jobs but always fondly remembered working at Crocco Bro’s Bakery in Waterbury, CT with his best buds Gary, Jay, and Vinnie. He is also a retired union worker from Sunbeam Bread.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Frances “Fran” (Velloso) DuBois, and his son John J. DuBois; his mother Marie; his siblings, sister Sharon (DuBois) Christmas and husband Joe of New Bedford, brother Gary DuBois, sister-in-law Patricia "Trish" (Chandler) DuBois, brother-in-law Bruce Velloso and wife Sheryl of Farmington Hills, MI; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
