Dhimitraq Lolo passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, February 12th, 2018 at the age of 91, surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Vasilika, his sons Theodore, Thanas, and Vangush Lolo; his daughters Kaliroi Endriko, Tatiana Tanga, Adelina Sanxhaku, all their spouses, his grandchildren, their spouses and his great grandchildren. He now joins his recently deceased daughter, Marjeta Kristo in heaven where they can both shine their light upon us.
Dhimitraq and Vasilika hail from Korca, Albania and immigrated to the United States in 1994 with their family. Since then he worked tediously to build a good life for his family and his sacrifices led to all his loved ones achieving the American Dream.
Dhimitraq will always be remembered for his gentleness and the sacrifices he made to raise his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A devoted grandfather who was dearly loved by his grand-kids. He told the best fairy tales and sang the sweetest lullaby’s.
He always had a smile on his face and found laughter and joy in all things, like daily walks to the park and playing dominoes with his wife (whom he always let win). Dhimitraq had such a warm demeanor that always brought union to the family; His smile was made of sunshine and his heart of solid gold. We miss you dearly Gyshi and although you’re physically not here with us, the lessons you taught and love you brought will continue on through us.
His funeral is Thursday, February 15th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 34 Gold Street in Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, February 14th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue and on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at St. Nicholas Church.
