Wilma Wallace Jackson, 80, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. Mrs. Jackson will be laid to rest at Douglas City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018. The family will receive friends Friday, February 16, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Austin Tucker, Kevin Jackson, Doug Jackson, Chad Thomas, Gordon Lundquist and Rob Jones will serve as pallbearers.
Born March 22, 1937 in Somerset, Kentucky, Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of the late John William Wallace and Theola Jane Mayfield Wallace. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Talmadge Jackson, who passed away March 26, 2017; and one brother, Billy Joe Wallace. Before retiring, she taught school in Dougherty County and was also a homemaker and a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Donna Jackson and Scott and Glenda Jackson, all of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Mark Bowmar of Kathleen; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Carolyn Wallace of Versailles, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Bev Wallace of Bothell, Washington; six grandchildren, Conner Jackson, Carter Jackson, Addison Jackson, Christina Bowmar, Mark Allen Bowmar and Austin and Kayla Tucker; and two great-grandsons, Jaxon Tucker and Drake Tucker.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church of Tifton Memorial Fund, 404 Love Avenue, Tifton, GA 31794; or the Tiftarea YMCA, 1657 Carpenter Road South, Tifton, GA 31793.
