Elvera Gutierrez, was born March 6, 1925 in West L.A., in 1933 she moved to Tortilla Flats Ventura. She was the first born to Antonia and Victor. She was a graduate of Holy Cross School and attended 1 year to Ventura High School and started working at Cottage Cafe, Ventura where she met the love of her life Louie Gutierrez, who was stationed at Seaside Park during WWII, 1941.
Elvera will be remembered as a person of serenity, peacefulness, the eldest of all her siblings and the one that never took advantage of her role. She was always in the background in opinion. One Classy Lady. Very kind, good to her children, she was a loving caregiver to her brother and sisters. She loved looking beautiful, loved makeup and her red lipstick. Her hobbies included dancing, music, reading, time with her children, playing cards, and she loved cats. She was a devoted Christian woman.
She is survived by her sisters Lucy Ontiveros, Esther Hanks, Lupe Gonzales, all of Ventura County; her children Margaret Gutierrez (Fresno), Gloria Majewski (Texas), Louie Gutierrez Jr. (Oak View), Linda Majewski (Texas), Amelio Gutierrez (Oxnard), Mona Gutierrez (Ventura), Fatima Hammlock (Los Angeles); 24 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by Louis A. Gutierrez (Husband), Antonia Gonzales (Mother), Rudy Gonzalez (Brother), Juanita Melendez (Sister).

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Friday February 16, 2018 from 4 to 8pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm in the Funeral Home's Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon Saturday February 17, 2018 in the San Buenaventura Roman Catholic Mission, E. Main Street Ventura. Interment will immediately follow in Ivy Lawn Cemetery, Ventura.
