Leo Carroll Braun, 77, of Millis passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved son of the late Leo H. and Rita Patrice (Carroll) Braun.
He was the cherished brother of Franciline Burch and her husband Alan of Millis, Elizabeth Ruffini and her husband William of Plymouth, Bernadette Rezendes and her husband Ronald of Plymouth, Richard Braun and his wife Kathleen of Millis and his most devoted brother David Braun of Millis.
Leo was born in Milford Hospital on June 21, 1940 and lived his entire life in the Millis homestead at the Braun Family Farm. He graduated from Millis High School, class of 1958.
After graduating he went to work at the Draper Corporation where he learned the trade of tool making. When Draper closed, Leo worked at the Bird Company in Walpole until his retirement in 2003.
During his lifetime he worked on the family farm. His happiest time was riding his tractors and making hay. He was also involved in Medway Little League as a coach and then an umpire.
His hobbies included making wooden boat models, fixing up his old tractors and fixing old cars. At his 70th birthday he stated that he wanted to be remembered as a person who loved animals. His pets included rabbits, cats, dogs, and any animal in need of help.
He will be extremely missed by his many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) on Thursday, February 15 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Thomas Church, 111 Exchange St. in Millis at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Millis.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m.
