Augusta, GA - Mrs. Mary Adams Kuhlke, 91, of Augusta Ga. entered into rest on February 10, 2018 at her home in Martinez, Ga.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Westover Memorial Park, with Rev. Linda Birchall of St. Mark United Methodist Church officiating. The family will receive family and friends at the graveside an hour before the funeral.
Mrs. Kuhlke, a native of Augusta, is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Mr. Robert “Bob” H. Kuhlke, Sr. She was the daughter of the late George Alexander Adams and the late Annie Lou Heath Adams. She is also preceded in death by her brothers George Adams, William Adams, and Eugene Adams, and sister Lou A. Anderson.
As part of the war effort, she worked as a bomb shell inspector during World War II at Camp Gordon. After the war she worked at Consumers Feed and Seed on Broad Street where she met Bob. Mary was a homemaker raising their four children and taking care of the home she loved. She was the quintessential southern woman: kind, well mannered, and an excellent cook.
Survivors include her two sons, Robert “Bud” H. Kuhlke Jr. (Marise), Martinez, and Joe E. Kuhlke (Steven Mize), Augusta; two daughters, Bobbie L. Kuhlke, Harlem, and Marie K. Ritch (Perry), Martinez; eight grandchildren, Michael A. Davidson (Brandee), Jennifer D. Wright (David), Anne Kuhlke Lee (Jonathan), Perry H. Ritch III (Allyssa), Matthew R. Kuhlke (Katarina), Casey R. Vause, Alexander K. Ritch, and Dayna R. Gress (Cole); and eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Julia A. Draper, New York, and Ruby A. Swearingen, Tennessee.
