Obituary

Lottie Haydon Greer, 89, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, February 10, 2018, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, February 13, 2018, in Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Steve O’Neal officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Greer was born August 30, 1928, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Warren Floyd & Jeannette Ellison Haydon. She moved to Fitzgerald in 1965, coming from Manchester, Kentucky. She was the office manager for Boatenreiter Office Supplies & Repair and retired from accounts receivable at Coachmen Industries. She was instrumental in the genesis of the Christian Kitchen and keeping the ministry operating. Mrs. Greer enjoyed square dancing and was active in the Elks Club alongside her husband. They loved entertaining in their home and she will be remembered for honoring her Kentucky roots by hosting Derby parties. She was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church where she worked with the youth and served as organist and choir director for many years.

She is survived by her children: Harry E. Greer, III & Stefini of Melbourne, Florida and Jeannette Greer Achord of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jennifer Achord Newell & Ashley, Jessica Achord Morey & Zach, Judith Achord Lawrence & Stuart, H.E. Greer, IV & Jenny, Scott Greer & Angelika, Shari Greer & Libby Ransdell, and Kolby Lawrence & Becca; great-grandchildren: Ashton Newell, Avery Newell, Zoe Morey, Ava Morey, Chandler Greer, Camryn Greer, Eyden Greer, Camdyn Greer, and Brooksdyn Greer; and a sister, Celena Clare Haydon of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Greer, Jr.
