Josephine “JoAnn” Jutras, 86, a longtime resident of Natick, died Friday afternoon, February 2, 2018 at the Eliot Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Natick.
JoAnn was born in Newton, daughter of the late James Neufell and Marianna Nicolazzo Neufell. Wife of the late George Paul Jutras who passed away in 1989. She was graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Waltham. Chairman for Waltham Girl Scouts for 10 years, editor of the Waltham Democrat and active in politics. She lived in Waltham until 1971.
After moving to Natick, she was editor of the Natick Newcomers Newsletter, past President of the Natick VFW Auxiliary 1274, Secretary of Public Relations, Chairman of the 4th of July committee, and a 12 year volunteer for the Leonard Morse Hospital. She enjoyed being past President of the Natick Woman’s Club. She was a servant to God. Chairman of “New Beginnings” Liturgist at Former East Natick Methodist Church. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Framingham.
She loved to garden, read, and photograph her flowers and birds that came to her back yard sanctuary. She loved her beloved dog “Baby” and “Louis”.
JoAnn is survived by her son Paul Stephen Jutras, daughters, Ruth E. Wallace and husband Bob of New York, the late Joanne E. Jutras of Natick, Sally Ann Drumm and husband Stephen of Maryland, and Barbara A. Young and husband Bob of Florida. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close cousins. 3 sisters, Helen Neufell and husband Peter of Framingham, the late Patricia Neufell and husband Robert Priest of Lunenberg, Margaret Suplicki and husband Jerry of NY, brothers Jim Neufell and late wife Marybelle of California, Frank Neufell and wife Sandy of N.H., Peter Neufell and wife Amy of Georgia, Jerry Neufell and wife Karen of MA, John Neufell and Richard Neufell of California. Also predeceased by her brother Paul Neufell of Tennessee.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday morning, February 17, 2018 from 9-11:00 a.m. 2018 at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common. Burial will follow at Dell Park Cemetery in Natick.
