Obituary

Amber Lee Correira, age 27, of Fall River, passed away on Monday February 5, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after losing her ongoing battle with addiction. Amber leaves behind her loving mother: Cheryl Robinson, father: Daniel Correira Jr., and step dad: Jesse Robinson. She also leaves behind her daughter: Destiny Robidoux; her other half & twin sister: Amy Correira; brothers: Daniel Correira III & Jason Page; and her little sis Kylee Correira; sister-in-law: Elizabeth Page; nephew: Daniel Correira IV; niece: Alexis Page; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Let’s remember the Amber we all knew and loved. Growing up, Amber had a way about her that drew people to her, she always had an infectious smile that could light up a room the moment she walked in. She was a beautiful, adventurous and free spirited soul. Amber had a big heart and deeply loved her family and friends, and was extremely passionate about her daughter Destiny. She always wanted to give Destiny the best life possible.

Amber was a brave, fearless, beautiful young woman. She was very passionate in what she believed in, and touched the life of every person she met. Amber loved her music and lived a life that was all her own. We all wish Amber recognized the beauty and strength everyone else saw in her.

After a very long battle with addiction, it did its job and took her from us much too soon. Heroin told her, I can make you feel alright, I can make you feel worthy, I can make you feel normal, I can make you feel loved and I can make you feel nothing and make you feel like everything will be ok. What it didn’t tell her is how it would devastate her family and tear it apart, steal her daughter from her life, leave her penniless, take her home, and make her homeless. How it would take her sparkle and smile, how it would take her humor and how it would take & take & take, until it took her life.

To all the people that don’t understand addiction, she is just another statistic that chose to make a bad decision; a very uneducated statement indeed, but none the less that is what they will say along with some other hurtful statements. We don’t care though, because she is our Amber. A wonderful mother, a mother’s child, a great sister, an amazing sister-in-law, friend, and beautiful soul. She is with the angels and at rest now. She will be missed by everyone and will always be loved. Please remember the Amber who wasn’t an addict, but the Amber everyone knew and loved because she was always in there, she just lost her way. Rest in peace our sweet, sweet angel.

Her calling hours will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 from 4-8 P.M. Cremation to follow. www.rogersfuneral.com.
