Obituary

Rudolph (Rudy) O. Carpenter 78, a lifelong resident of Chicopee passed away on Feb. 4, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Rudy was educated in Chicopee and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He took great pride in his service to this Country. He was an avid golfer, artist and entertainer. He was the jokester of the family. Rudy is survived by his cherished wife Charlotte (Fierro) Carpenter of Chicopee, whom he adored. He also leaves Alice Bergeron, mother of his four beloved children; two sons Rudy Carpenter Jr. and Randy Carpenter both of Chicopee; two daughters Debora Sicard of Chicopee, and Susan Flowers of Ware; his step daughter, Deborah Boisselle and her husband David; seven beautiful grandchildren, Nicholas, Valerie, Ashley, Amanda, Allison, David and Ryan; many great grandchildren who he adored; his step mother of 75 years, Eloise Carpenter; his much loved sisters Rita Roda of Springfield and "Baby Sister" Donna Fontaine and her fiancé George Croteau of Chicopee. Rudy is now in the loving embrace of his mother and father Blanche and Rudolph Carpenter. His brother CPL. Harvey Carpenter who has been MIA from the Korean War, his brothers Robert and Roger, and his beloved sister Shirley (Shirbee) Bergeron, all of whom have previously passed. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and so many friends. Rudy was the Class Clown, the Life of the Party and everyone's friend. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday Feb. 11, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee, MA 01013. A memorial Service will be held directly at the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam on Monday Feb. 12, 2018 at 2 p.m.
