Marcial Marquez, Jr., age 57, recently of Norton, formerly of Taunton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the embracing loving of his family on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Boston Medical Center in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Maria A. (Bello) Marquez, to whom he was wed for the past twenty-seven years.
Born in New Haven, CT on March 7, 1960, he was a loving son of Hilda Margarita (Fontanez) Marquez of Taunton and the late Marcial Marquez Vasquez, Sr.
Marcial grew up and was educated Brooklyn New York. He had worked for twenty years at Callico Distributors in Taunton, where he was head of the maintenance department.
Mr. Marquez had recently moved to Norton in July, and previously resided in Taunton for many years where he, along with his family, attended St. Mary’s Church. He loved spending time amongst family, especially with his two grandsons. Marcial also collected watches, was an avid NASCAR fan, a loyal fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, and enjoyed repairing cars for family and friends.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his devoted daughters Tatiana Marquez of Dighton and Stephanie M. Marquez of Fall River. He was the adoring grandfather of Jayden Damian Torres and Josiah Damian Torres. He was the dear brother of George Marquez of Alabama, Olga Marquez of Taunton, Martin Marquez of Alabama, Sanson Marquez of Taunton, Felix Marquez of Puerto Rico and the late Fabian Marquez. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday, February 12th at 11:00 A.M. at the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo St. (Off Route 140, Tremont St.) Taunton. Burial will follow at Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 11th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Taunton Funeral Home.
