Emory Cheek, Jr., 56, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, February 9, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Chuck Taylor and the Rev. Ike Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery, in Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Cheek was born November 21, 1961, in Tifton, Georgia, to LaTrelle Dukes Cheek of Tifton, and the late Joseph Emory Cheek, Sr. He graduated from Tift County High School in 1979. Mr. Cheek moved from Tifton, Georgia, 29 years ago and was currently a department manager with Wal-Mart in Fitzgerald. He was a former assistant manager at Harvey’s and a sales representative for Millbrook and McKesson. Mr. Cheek was an avid Bulldog fan and he loved music of all kinds. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather and was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jennifer Hogan Cheek of Fitzgerald; children: Calvin Emory Cheek & Amanda of Fitzgerald and Amanda Cheek McBryant & Jamie of Fitzgerald; three grandchildren: Rylan Cheek, Cotton Cheek and McKenzie McBryant; his mother, LaTrelle Dukes Cheek of Tifton and a sister, Emily Cheek of Tifton.
