Richard H. House, 72, of Franklin, formerly of Alplaus, New York, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on February 6. He was the husband of Margaret A. (Rose) House for the past 43 years.
Born in Schenectady, New York, March 18, 1945, he was the son of the late Charles and Marjorie (Betts) House.
Mr. House was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College in New York and was most recently employed by the MBTA as one of their mechanical officers. He retired in 2002.
Richard was a parishioner at the Franklin Methodist Church where he served as a member of the Trustees for several years.
At home he enjoyed working in his basement metal working shop with all his machines.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Jennifer Reed and her husband Jeffrey of Zionsville, Pennsylvania, William A. Gray of Franklin, Kenneth J. Gray and his wife Tara of Uxbridge and Julianne Hughes and her husband Jimmy of Milford.
Richard was also blessed with 9 grandchildren, Sarah, Alyssa, Shanna, Amanda, Robert, Nathan, Kenneth, Olivia and Cameron and his great-grandchildren, Declan and Amara.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, February 9 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 1: 00 p.m.
Burial will be private.
Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
