BUXTON- Basil Townsend Jr of West Buxton, passed away Saturday morning February 3, 2018 after a brief illness. Basil was the son of Basil Townsend Sr and Phyllis Linscott Townsend and was born on August 14, 1940.
Basil married Elaine Goff of Hollis, Maine in 1959. Basil and Elaine had three children, Darrell Town-send of West Buxton, Dixie Townsend of Scarborough and Karen Decker who passed away in 2015.
Basil was a logger and a farmer, with many other occupations over the years. Basil was always busy, and had a very strong work ethic, that he passed along to his family. Basil liked to travel with his wife Elaine to Amish country, and several times returned with a pair of mules to work on his own farm.
Basil will be remembered for his sense of humor and relentless leg-pulling of anyone who passed his way. He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
