Sandra A. Gazda
1943 – 2018
Chicopee – Sandra A. (Letendre) Gazda, age 74, passed away on Feb. 4, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 30, 1943 in Springfield. Sandra was a daughter of the late Leonard A. and Annabelle (LaRock) Letendre. She graduated from Commerce High School, Class of 1961. She was a communicant of St Stanislaus Basilica. Sandra worked as a Nurses Aide for the Sisters of Providence for many years. She is predeceased by her husband Edward R. Gazda who passed away in 2010. She leaves 2 sons Steven A. Gazda and his wife Tara of Westfield and Thomas M. Gazda and his wife Irene of Chicopee; 1 daughter, Melissa M. Prendergast and her husband Louis of Chicopee; 3 brothers, Anthony Letendre and his wife Joy of East Longmeadow, Leonard A. Letendre and his wife Christine of Oakham and Dennis A. Letendre of Agawam; 6 grandchildren, Savannah Boehnke, Haliegh Gazda, Colby Gazda, Bailey Prendergast, Sean Prendergast and Megan Prendergast. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and dear friends who will miss her. She is predeceased by her infant son Matthew who passed away in 1970 and also by her sister Joan Collier who passed away in 2013. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Fresenius Kidney Care Center of Chicopee. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Feb. 8th, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A private burial will be held at a later date.
