Rome, David of Gloucester on Sunday, February 4th, 2018. Loving son of the late Richard Rome and Ethel (Shapiro) Rome. Devoted brother of James Rome and wife Mirta of Gloucester. Dear Uncle of Aaron Rome and wife Yolanda and Jacob Rome and wife Jennifer. Loving great-uncle of Nathan, Max, Quincy and Jordan. David also leaves 16 1st cousins.
David was a graduate of Bryant College and obtained his Master’s degree in marketing from American University. After graduation he worked as an Assistant Town Manager of Ipswich. David also was a significant contributor to the development of the Central Grammar School Senior Housing Project in Gloucester. For many years he worked in sales for Rome specialties. During the Last Thirty years he owned a Mailboxes etc. store, later to become Easy Ship and Pack (ESP). David was known for his integrity, loyalty, and his wry sense of humor. Over the years he collected and kept friends from all walks of life. He will be missed by all.
Funeral Services will be held at Temple Ahavt Achim-86 Middle Street, Gloucester, MA on Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interment in Mount Jacob Cemetery, Gloucester. Memorial observance will be held immediately after burial and resuming on Thursday from 3-6PM at David’s late residence.
