Richard D. Mason, 73, of Berlin, passed away on Saturday February 3, 2018 at his home. He was born in Berlin on March 11, 1944 the son of Freddy and Madeline (Dion) Mason and was a lifelong resident. He had been employed by Isaacson Structural Steel for 40 years and also by Norseman Motorcycle Company. He had been a member of the Berlin Kiwanis Club and enjoyed playing cribbage.
Family includes his wife Rose M. (Savoie) Mason of Berlin; his daughter Tena LaRock and husband Joe of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Marcel Mason, Jesse Mason, Cody Mason, James Astbury, Tyler Mason, Joseph LaRock and TyHanna LaRock; great grandchildren Devin Lozeau, Myles Mason, Jax Mason, Rosalie Mason, Shelby Mason and L.J. Astbury; daughters-in-law Michele L’Heureux and Sharon Judson; siblings Jackie Morton, Roberta Mason, Avril Mason and Ruth Mason; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his children Freddy Mason and Darlene Mason, a grandson Sgt. Randy Rosenberg and siblings Caroline Mason, Sandra Leroux and Barbara Tarby.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday February 8, 2018 at 1 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM and on Thursday from 12-1 PM, prior to the service. Interment will be in the New City Cemetery at a later day.
